The Association of Business and Professional Women Switzerland – BPW Switzerland – represents the interests of working women with the aim of improving the economic and political participation of women. The 2,300 members of BPW Switzerland shows the significance and the potential of female executives. More and more women start businesses, occupy significant economic positions and take political leadership.
The Association of BPW Switzerland and the 39 clubs in all linguistic regions promote and support working women in professional, cultural, civic and social areas, in particular through:
- Promotion of the local, national and international network
- Statements as an economically influential lobby
- Strong partnerships in business, society and politics
- Mentoring programmes and continuing education offers
- Cooperation in European and International Committees such as the UN and the Council of Europe.
Members of BPW can be found in all economic sectors. They hold various positions and practise in a very wide range of professions. They are entrepreneurs as well as self-employed persons or employees from all ages and nationalities.
The Association of BPW Switzerland is member of BPW International, the world's largest women's network, which stands for the values of personal responsibility, independence and self-determination. BPW International has 30,000 members from all continents. This broad structure enables members to network at the regional, national and international levels. The international Federation of BPW International has been granted consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and observer status in various organisations and bodies of the UN.
