On 20 June 2020, the Swiss parliament resolved a revision of the Swiss Code of Obligations (company limited by shares law). Another important milestone in the equality of women and men has thus been achieved. Article 734f CO, which entered into force on 1 January 2021, says that listed companies based in Switzerland are to fill more managerial positions with women in future.
30 per cent of positions in administrative councils and 20 percent of positions in management boards are now to be filled by women. In order to reach the goal of 30 per cent, 114 female administrative councillors are being sought for the 200 big listed companies in the coming years! (Schilling Report 2020)
There is even more catching up required when it comes to women in the management boards of the 100 biggest companies. Only one in ten positions in top management is filled by a woman. The guiding values mentioned open doors and create opportunities both for women and for companies in Switzerland.

We are delighted to present our collaboration with Women for the Board.
Women for the Board is a network that raises women’s visibility for strategic bodies. The initiative offers women in all sectors who are interested in new or additional positions on boards of directors or trustees a platform to exchange ideas and recommend each other on various channels.
At the same time, Women for the Board is also a database for candidates who want to put themselves forward for positions on boards of directors or trustees. This database brings the skills of the profiled women, their track records, as well as their work and leadership experience to the attention of the target audience.
How do I get my profile on the platform?
Any women who are interested should send an email to womenfortheboard@gmail.com. A member of the onboarding team will then get in touch to arrange an online appointment to get to know each other.
